Meryl Donoghue’s (1984, UK) Nothing is new under the Sun was selected by CODA Museum for the exhibition Van heide en verre.

Donoghue’s practice moves at the intersection of mythology, forensic science, and art. She combines traditional and contemporary techniques to explore timeless narratives and human emotions.

Her work often engages with dualities, life and death, isolation and connection, danger and healing, inviting the viewer to reflect on both the fragility and resilience of existence. Drawing inspiration from folklore, fairytales, mythology, religion, and literature, she weaves these influences into a surreal world where fact and imagination merge, and the boundaries between myth and reality blur.
