Ray Caesar: "One of my many imagined anxieties is a form of agoraphobia, the fear of the outside world, and in my case, an overwhelming astonishment of how huge the sky is above my head. This compounded by my certain suspicious nature that gravity may prove to be a theory that is in fact unproven and fallible. Each day I force myself to put on my coat and shoes and hitch up my little rat terrier "Finnegan" in his vestments and venture out for what I call "My Daily Constitutional".

I think I first heard the term in the 1960s comedic movie "The World of Henry Orient" with Peter Sellers. As I have now watched that film hundreds of times as it reminds me of my childhood steeped in a dissociative world of my own making. Every single day I stand in front of that door that leads to the outside world and as Finnegan gives me a little mental shove, we are off on one of our many daily constitutionals. I let him guide the way as we walk through the now pandemically empty streets of University of Toronto and like him, I keep my head down and generally try to avoid looking up at that amazing, glorious and stunningly beautiful sky."
