After the huge success of the opening we decided to do another book signing event with Dadara during the closing weekend of the expo. For those who missed the opening of the show and book release, this'll be another chance to obtain a signed copy of 'Here for the Art' and see the Ctrl Alt Delirium show.
Yoms (UK) will be spinning tunes during the Dadara book signing event.
This coming Saturday the 24th of February will be the last day to visit the expo.

Tijdens de opening presenteren we Dadara’s nieuwste boek ‘Here for the Art’. Het eerste exemplaar wordt rond 18:00 uur overhandigd aan Merlijn Twaalfhoven, die het betoog ‘To drown, surf, or dive in waves of reality’ schreef. Daarnaast zal Dadara een introductie geven over zijn nieuwste werk en signeren.
Vooruit-kijker, onderzoeker, maker - Een relevant kort overzicht
Dadara observeert, kijkt vooruit, onderzoekt, reflecteert en creëert.
In 2008 bouwde hij op Burning Man USA 'Checkpoint Dreamyourtopia', een enorme grenspost die de grens bewaakte tussen 'dromen en realiteit'. 'Immigranten' - de bezoekers - moesten aanzienlijke inspanningen leveren om de installatie te bezoeken. In 2013 was hij de 'profeet' van 'Like 4 Real', een vijftien meter hoge installatie van een 'like'-icoon. De Like4Real-beweging wilde menselijke interactie en reflectie terugbrengen naar waar ze thuishoren, van de virtuele wereld terug naar de echte realiteit. Een waarschuwing voor de invloed van Facebook en sociale media.
2014 was het jaar van de ‘Exchanghibition Bank’. Dadara volgde zijn motto 'De kunst van het veranderen van kunst in geld en geld in kunst' en onderzocht de waarde van geld ten opzichte van sociale, morele en ethische waarden. Deze installaties, ruim een decennium geleden bedacht, belichten nu in 2024 uiterst relevante thema's zoals immigratie, grenzen, sociale media en het monetaire systeem.
Huidige expositie - Het concept van ‘realiteit’
Dadara is altijd geïntrigeerd geweest door het concept 'realiteit'. De afgelopen jaren heeft zijn focus zich verlegd naar het verkennen van de digitale en fysieke realiteiten. Met de opkomst van kunstmatige intelligentie vervagen de grenzen tussen de digitale en de echte wereld snel. Alles wat we zien lijkt echt, maar of het daadwerkelijk heeft plaatsgevonden, is soms onduidelijk.
Kijken wij echt kritisch? Mensen hebben meningen, zijn voor of tegen, maar wie neemt de moeite om verder te kijken? Soms lijkt wat door de computer is gemaakt origineel, en wat ambachtelijk is, lijkt gemaakt door de computer.

Ctrl Alt Delirium
Dadara speelt met de realiteiten van origineel, digitaal en ambachtelijkheid in zijn werken voor de expositie Ctrl Alt Delirium. Als je goed kijkt, zie je in de schilderijen gepixelde elementen, zoals gegenereerd door de computer, en elementen uit zijn onderbewustzijn. Deze zijn samengebracht op het fysieke doek. Maar hoe gepixeliseerd sommige delen ook mogen lijken, alles is met een vaste hand geschilderd, waardoor er een symbiose ontstaat tussen schijnbaar onverenigbare werelden.
Presentatie van het nieuwe boek ‘Here for the Art’
Naast een tiental nieuwe werken presenteren we ons nieuwste boek van Dadara, 'Here for the Art'. Hans Bos van KochxBos Publishers heeft afgelopen jaar samen met Dadara de beste werken en innovatieve ideeën geselecteerd die zijn bedacht en gemaakt tussen 2018 en 2024. Merlijn Twaalfhoven - componist, auteur en oprichter van The Turn Club - heeft een inspirerend betoog geschreven om het geheel samen te brengen.
'Here for the Art' vangt de essentie van Dadara's kunst. Je vindt de samenwerkingen met gerenommeerde kunstenaars zoals Henk Schiffmacher, Bas Kosters, Jim Avignon, Ivana Flores, Laser3.14, The London Police en Daan Botlek. Verken zijn perspectieven over de opkomst van kunstmatige intelligentie, het onderzoek naar de wereld van NFT's en de Loading Love Temple op het Boom Festival. Er is een sectie gewijd aan de guerrillaprojecten die tijdens de Covid-19-periode zijn uitgevoerd, waarbij het absolute hoogtepunt de aankoop van het werk 'The artist is not present' door het Amsterdam Museum was. Bovendien vind je een overvloed aan schilderijen en tekeningen met een scherpzinnige en kritische inslag.

During the opening, we will be presenting Dadara's latest book, 'Here for the Art.' The first copy will be handed over to Merlijn Twaalfhoven around 6:00 PM, who wrote the essay 'To drown, surf, or dive in waves of reality.' In addition, Dadara will give an introduction to his latest work and sign copies of the book.
Forward-thinker, researcher, creator - A brief overview
Dadara observes, looks forward, investigates, reflects, and creates.
In 2008, he built 'Checkpoint Dreamyourtopia' at Burning Man USA, a massive border checkpoint guarding the border between 'dreams and reality.' 'Immigrants' - the visitors - had to make considerable efforts to visit the installation. In 2013, he was the 'prophet' of 'Like 4 Real,' a fifteen-meter-high installation of a 'like' icon. The Like4Real movement aimed to bring human interaction and reflection back to where they belong, from the virtual world to real reality. It served as a warning about the influence of Facebook and social media.
In 2014, the 'Exchanghibition Bank' was the focal point. Dadara followed his motto, 'The art of turning art into money and money into art,' and explored the value of money in relation to social, moral, and ethical values. These installations, conceived over a decade ago, now shed light on highly relevant themes in 2024, such as immigration, borders, social media, and the monetary system.
Current exhibition - The concept of 'reality'
Dadara has always been intrigued by the concept of 'reality.' In recent years, his focus has shifted towards exploring digital and physical realities. With the rise of artificial intelligence, the boundaries between the digital and the real world are rapidly blurring. Everything we see appears real, but whether it actually happened is sometimes unclear. Are we really looking critically? People have opinions, are for or against, but who takes the trouble to look further? Sometimes, what is created by the computer seems original, and what is handmade seems made by the computer.

Ctrl Alt Delirium
Dadara plays with the realities of originality, digital, and craftsmanship in his works for the Ctrl Alt Delirium exhibition. If you look closely, you'll see pixelated elements in the paintings, generated by the computer, alongside elements from his subconscious. These are brought together on the physical canvas. But no matter how pixelated some parts may appear, everything is painted with a steady hand, creating a symbiosis between seemingly incompatible worlds.
Presentation of the new book 'Here for the Art'
In addition to a dozen new works, we present Dadara's latest book, 'Here for the Art.' Hans Bos of KochxBos Publishers, in collaboration with Dadara, selected the best works and innovative ideas conceived and created between 2018 and 2024. Merlijn Twaalfhoven - composer, author, and founder of The Turn Club - has written an inspiring essay to tie it all together.
'Here for the Art' captures the essence of Dadara's art.
