STYLE
Chris Reccardi's works combine the aesthetics of 1960's & 70's design and illustration with a curious touch of Edwardian era flair. Amidst the rich imagery of fantastical settings and abstract shapes/color, the characters in his paintings are seemingly caught amidst subtle moments that explore the paradoxical themes of human nature: loneliness, self-seeking, ignorance and bliss.

MUSIC
Chris's work as a musician can be heard in the Ren & Stimpy Show title themes as well as various background music throughout the series. He scored the soundtrack to his 2007 pilot for Nickelodeon The Modifyers, and various sequences in his 2001 Cartoon Network pilot Imp, Inc. He has been working on an album of solo material which will include an animated music video he is self-producing. Chris is currently working with Elliot Easton (The Cars) and Nick Walusko & Todd Jaeger (Brian Wilson, The Wondermints) as bassist/art director for Elliot Easton's Tiki Gods which combines the aesthetics of Exotica, 60s spy soundtrack, and Space Tiki musical genres. The band plans an early 2013 album release, featuring one original composition by Chris. Live shows that will feature stage design and projected art/animation by Chris are planned following the album release.

CURRENTLY
A new picture book entitled Affirmations for Pessimists featuring over 50 captioned illustrations is due for publishing by late 2012. Plans for a colorful new line of silk screen print releases and Giclees is also under way as we speak. Chris currently resides in a historic neighborhood of Pasadena, CA with his extraordinarily talented wife Lynne Naylor.
