Miss Van

Miss Van, also known as Vanessa Alice, embarked on her journey as a wall painter at the youthful age of 20 back in 1993, igniting the feminist movement within the realm of Street Art. Hailing from Toulouse, France, and having dedicated a significant portion of her artistic career to Barcelona, Miss Van has traversed the globe, adorning streets and canvases alike with her instantly recognizable depictions of women. Over the course of several decades, she has graced numerous exhibitions across Europe, the USA, and Asia.

In recent years, Miss Van's artistic exploration has led her to vibrant cities such as Los Angeles, Miami, New York, San Francisco, and various locations in the UK and Europe. This marked a significant return to the world of street art, following a period where she focused solely on studio painting. Consequently, her new works possess a heightened sense of depth, emotion, and an elevated romantic darkness and delicacy. Within these captivating pieces, her iconic alluring female figures emerge, adorned with sensual yet dark animal masks, set amidst ever-evolving environments.

Through gauzy romantic compositions, Miss Van's art exudes a surreal quality reminiscent of burlesque, embodying a captivating fusion of rawness, softness, and intense emotion. Reflecting on her creative journey, she shares, "I'm evolving and maturing alongside my paintings. It's the only way when you paint with emotions and feelings. I strive to remain authentic to myself." With over 25 years dedicated to her craft, Miss Van is now celebrating a remarkable artistic legacy.
